The land that is now Peachtree Corners was once part of the traditional territory of the Creek and Cherokee peoples. These indigenous nations relied on the fertile soil and river systems of the region for farming, hunting, and trade. Following the land cessions and treaties of the early 19th century, settlers began arriving in what would become Gwinnett County, which was officially formed in 1818. The area that later evolved into Peachtree Corners remained rural for much of the 19th century, with small farms, homesteads, and crossroads communities dotting the landscape.

For decades, the economy of this portion of Gwinnett County revolved around agriculture. Families cultivated cotton, corn, and other staple crops, while raising livestock on modest farms. Local mills provided services to farming families, and churches became community anchors. As nearby Norcross developed with the arrival of the railroad, the rural area north of the Chattahoochee River retained its agricultural identity, only beginning to urbanize in the mid-to-late 20th century.

The transformation of Peachtree Corners began in earnest in the 1960s, when businessman Paul Duke envisioned creating a planned community that combined residential neighborhoods with high-tech office parks. His goal was to offer families a suburban lifestyle while also attracting businesses and research facilities. This vision came to life with the development of Technology Park, which quickly became a hub for technology-oriented firms and corporate offices. This innovative concept helped shape Peachtree Corners into one of the first communities in the Southeast designed with both live and work spaces integrated into a master plan.

Infrastructure growth followed closely behind. The expansion of Peachtree Industrial Boulevard and Georgia Highway 141 provided critical connections to Atlanta and the rest of Gwinnett County. Improved roads, bridges, and commercial corridors supported both residential expansion and corporate investment. By the late 20th century, Peachtree Corners had grown into a thriving suburban community with a strong economic base, excellent schools, and a reputation as a desirable place to live and work.
