Resseville is a small unincorporated community in Putnam County with roots stretching back to Georgia's early settlement era. The region was originally Creek Indian land until the early 19th century, when treaties opened the area to settlers moving into the fertile Piedmont. Putnam County was established in 1807, and communities like Resseville soon developed around farming, churches, and family homesteads.
