Spring Hill is one of the fastest-growing cities in Tennessee and spans portions of both Williamson and Maury counties. The community's history dates back to the early nineteenth century when settlers established farms and rural homesteads throughout the fertile rolling countryside south of Nashville. During the Civil War, the area gained historical significance due to the Battle of Spring Hill in 1864, an important military engagement during the Franklin-Nashville Campaign. Spring Hill experienced major economic transformation with the establishment of the Saturn automobile manufacturing plant, later operated by General Motors, which brought substantial employment opportunities and population growth to the area.

The city evolved from a quiet rural community into a major suburban and economic center within Middle Tennessee. New neighborhoods, schools, shopping centers, healthcare facilities, and recreational amenities expanded rapidly as families moved into the area. Despite rapid growth, Spring Hill has continued to preserve aspects of its historic character and community-oriented atmosphere.
